C K Kumaravel, co-founder, Naturals, said, “The expansion will make Naturals the largest salon brand in Asia as the current leader, Philippines-based 'Style', has 604 outlets across the continent.”
Naturals incepted in 2000 with its first beauty parlour in Chennai. Three years from the start, the brand came up with its second salon with an aim to earn the tag of a recognised brand. Later, franchise model was adopted to expand faster.
The firm’s franchise partners work on a flexible royalty model. Once franchisees start raking in money, they then have to pay the royalty. While 50 per cent of the money is invested by the company, the other half of the amount is put in by the franchisees.
The organised salon industry is currently worth around Rs 10,000 crore, growing at a rate of 25-30 per cent.
