- New entrant in the cosmetic’s product space by Hollywood star Jessica Alba’s Honest Co.
Hollywood actress Jessica Alba has recently launched a beauty care line under the aegis of her Honest Company. The products on offer include over 80 individual range of non-toxic household product line, mostly make-up.
Now the Hollywood actress has kicked her plan for world domination up a gear as her enterprise is launching.
Announcing the expansion, the mother-of-two unveiled that it was always ‘part of the plan’' to eventually cover beauty and skincare items as well as their parenting-oriented products.
As informed by a leading international daily, Alba said, "Beauty was always part of the plan. It was just a matter of when, how and being able to execute it properly. I didn't want to do this half-ass.”
The 34-year-old ‘Fantastic Four’ fame insists her long movie career made her the ideal person to create the best products.
''There's no hero product; we tried to offer anything you could ever need. If women like one product, they're likely to try more. I will always try something that a girlfriend tells me she loves, way more than watching a commercial about it,'' added she.
Earlier in August, it was revealed that Alba is now worth an estimated US$340 million, after the Honest Company was valued at US$1.7billion. Thanks to her 20 per cent stake in the company, she is now richer than 33-year-old singer-cum-actress Beyonce, whom Forbes claims is worth US$250 million.
Meanwhile, the CEO and Co-Founder of Honest Company, Brian Lee noted, "The size of the beauty market is much larger than the other categories we are claiming today, so does it have the potential to be larger than The Honest Company? Absolutely."
Elaborating further over the same, Alba said, "There's no hero product; we tried to offer anything you could ever need. If women like one product, they're likely to try more. I will always try something that a girlfriend tells me she loves, way more than watching a commercial about it.”
Reportedly, Alba has further announced couple of months back that she was making one more ‘Goop’ footstep by launching a full colour cosmetics and skin care line in stores in the fall, making health-conscious beauty accessible to all. Although she’s had quite a backlash from her sunscreen product-users as of late, however, no official release was issued so far from the Honest Company to confirm the speculations.
Well, whatever the scenario would be, Indian consumers must be keen to try the Honest Company made cosmetics line soon.
