CM Patnaik has said that a long-cherished dream of Balasore and nearby areas has come true with the opening of the medical college.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital at Balasore, Odisha. CM Patnaik has said that a long-cherished dream of Balasore and nearby areas has come true with the opening of the medical college.

Patnaik inaugurated the medical college after unveiling the statue of legendary Odia poet and novelist Fakir Mohan Senapati installed at the entrance of the medical institution. He said that the state government is committed to providing quality health service to all the citizens of the state.

The admission in the medical college for 100 MBBS seats has already begun for the 2018-19 academic session. 

Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Union Minister of State for Health, said, “The Central government is taking steps to upgrade the district headquarters hospitals to medical colleges to provide quality health service.” He further added that five medical colleges were approved in Odisha and funds of Rs. 558.6 crore has been released by the Central Government.
