Homegrown ride-hailing firm Ola has launched its service in New Zealand, its third international market after Australia and the UK. The company will offer rides to passengers in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Ola said that the rides can currently be booked within the three major cities and also from Auckland and Wellington airports. The company had started its international operations earlier this year.
Brian Dewil, New Zealand Country Manager for Ola, said, "Entering New Zealand is an important step for Ola, and the ride-sharing industry here. Over recent weeks, we have received enthusiastic feedback from drivers across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch."
Ola cabs will offer services like ride tracking and an in-app emergency button, which allows customers to instantly share important information such as, location coordinates, vehicle and driver information with their family and emergency services.
