Oyo Hotels and Homes is looking at expanding its footprint in Rajasthan. The hospitality firm is aiming to have 40,000 rooms by the end of next year.

OYO started its operations in Rajasthan in 2015. The company has a presence in over 40 cities of the state. It has generated one lakh job opportunities in the state.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO, Oyo India and South Asia, said, “The company currently has a network of 1,500 hotels and nearly 22,000 rooms. We are targeting to increase to grow to 40,000 rooms in Rajasthan by the end of 2020.”

The company is having a portfolio of over 44,000 hotels with more than 1.2 million rooms. OYO operates in more than 800 cities in 80 countries.

OYO, through its vacation homes business, is offering travellers and city dwellers access to over 1,25,000 homes around the world under OYO Home, Belvilla, Danland, Dancenter, and Germany-based Traum-Ferienwohnungen brands.

Expansion plans in Bihar

In October 2019, Oyo Hotels and Homes also announced its plans to strengthen its presence in Bihar by investing in infrastructure and talent. The company expects this investment to create 700 jobs in the hospitality sector in the next six months.

The company has a presence in 28 cities across Bihar, including Patna, Bodhgaya, Muzaffarpur, Purnea, and Bhagalpur, among others.

OYO’s recent appointment of new COO

Oyo Hotels and Homes has roped in Ankit Gupta as the Chief Operating Officer and SVP of frontier businesses. OYO’s self-operated hotels, including Oyo Townhouse, Collection O, SilverKey, student housing and co-living and OYO Home businesses, are comprised into frontier businesses.

With this new appointment, the company continues with its efforts to invest in and attract world-class leadership for driving innovation and growth in the company.
