After entering the coastal city in November 2016, OYO Hotels & Home is now planning to expand its operations in Visakhapatnam. The hospitality firm is aiming to invest Rs 100 crore towards capex, infrastructure and talent in Visakhapatnam in the coming days.
The company further targets to create more than 5,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities for hospitality professionals in Andhra Pradesh in the next one year.
At present, OYO has 100 hotels and 1,950 rooms in Vizag and 289 hotels and 6,300 rooms in the state.
Aditya Ghosh, CEO - India and South Asia, OYO Hotels & Homes, said, “Visakhapatnam is a key market for us and has been performing really well since launch. As the largest city and the economic hub of Andhra Pradesh, one of India’s fastest-growing states, we continue to invest in expanding our footprint and serve thousands of customers in the city.”
“We aim to have at least 10 OYO Townhouses in the city by the end of 2019. Since our launch in Visakhapatnam in 2016, we’ve worked closely with small and independent hotel owners and utilized our deep expertise in standardizing amenities and guest experiences to empower them as better hospitality players,” he added.
Ghosh further stated, “In the coming year, we aim at strengthening these partnerships and supporting the state’s vision while continuously creating and delivering outstanding opportunities for business growth, fostering all-round socio-economic development for the State and its people.”
