Japanese electronics brand, Panasonic, is planning to foray into India's premium smartphone segment. The company is all set to launch two Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled premium smartphones in the Indian market on October 4.
Panasonic has already created its space in the entry-level and mid-price segment of smartphones in the country.
The two new smartphones will offer features like stainless steel body, wireless charging and other top-of-the-line specifications.
Pankaj Rana, Business Head, Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, "Distribution is our core strength and currently 80 percent of the business comes from our distribution channel network and 20 percent from the online channel. Going forward, we believe online will grow up to 30 percent."
The company recently launched smartphones equipped with an in-house AI-based virtual assistant, namely Arbo. Panasonic has introduced "Arbo" to give users an enhanced user experience with AI.
"With 'Arbo', we began positioning of intelligent phones and, because of this, we were able to spread our wings in the market very quickly," Rana said.
