- Perfume brand Ajmal plans to open 100+ stores by 2020
Ajmal Perfumes, a leading name in the world of perfumery opened its 24th exclusive stand alone specialty outlet in Bangalore. Located in the heart of the city’s shopping hub, the store will offer a range of products apart from perfumes. Ajmal has been selling its perfumes through a retail outlet in Bangalore since 2008.This format is a strategic decision that the company has taken to be able to cater to the changing market demands. Ajmal set up its first store in Mumbai several decades back in 1951. While the second and third stores was 14 years apart, in 1974 and 1988, the journey of creating and selling fine perfumes saw the addition of textiles to its product line.
Sirajuddin Ajmal, Director, Ajmal India said “We chose Bangalore to unveil the first of its kind of store to cater to the increasing clientele. This is a high-point in Ajmal India’s journey, as we diversify into other product lines. A customer who enters the store will be happy to see the carefully chosen ensemble of products.”
A spokesperson from Ajmal India confirmed that yes, we are thinking of opting the franchise route but still there are lots of things to be finalised like the modality. The largest store is spread over a 12,000 sq ft sprawling exclusive 5-storied stand-alone building. The store design has been deliberately made to look rich and royal, with gold facades. The brand’s major expansion plans are to open 100 plus stores by 2020. With showrooms in prime landmark locations across India’s major cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Calicut, Kochi Lucknow, Manglore etc, the company is now making strides globally.
