With its archrival Domino’s Pizza soon gearing up to reach a mark of 1,000 outlets in the near future, Pizza Hut too is eyeing same number of stores in the next five years. The US-based franchise brand presently operates 400 outlets, including 250 delivery stores and 150 restaurants.
“In the next five years, we aim to open a total of 1000 delivery stores and restaurants in India. For setting up an outlet, we prefer areas which have good weekend sales. Our primarily focus remains on three parts-snacking, lunch and dinner,” Unnat Verma, General Manager, Pizza Hut, shares with Franchise India.
Pizza Hut is the world's popular pizza company, which began 55 years ago, in Wichita, Kansas, and today it is a global brand. Pizza Hut division includes over 13,300 restaurants including over 7,800 units in the US and over 5,500 outside the US in 88 countries, excluding the Yum! China and India divisions. It began building delivery carryout units in 1988 and today it is the fastest growing part of the business. With delivery, the strategy is to take advantage of the existing scale and quickly grow the brand in both developed and emerging markets.
