- Quikr takes over Zapluk; stretches its reach in beauty and wellness services
Quikr, an online classified site, has now coagulated its presence in beauty and wellness service sector by acquiring Zapluk. Though the actual figures of the acquisition deal were not revealed, but the acquisition will certainly going to beef up its home beauty services brand AtHomeDiva, which comes under its QuikrServices offering.
Zapluk is a startup that operates through its app, it enables the users to book an appointment for beauty and wellness services straight to their homes, offices or hotels. Earlier, Quikr had acquired another beauty and wellness startup Salosa and soon after acquisition, it floated AtHomeDiva.
The AtHomeDiva brand currently offers a range of in-home beauty and styling services including hair, skin, make-up services and special packages. These services are fulfilled by qualified beauty professionals. With two acquisitions—Salosa and ZapLuk—in the beauty & wellness services space, Quikr plans to expand AtHomeDiva to consumers in cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad.
As a part of the deal, Lavanya Hariharan, Co-Founder, Zapluk will now join team Quikr, along with her team of 50 stylists and professionals. Rest of the co-founders Manan Maheshwari, Mahesh Gogineni and CTO Varun MS will be pursuing other business interests, the company said in a statement.
