- Raj Travels to add 50 franchisees in two years
Mumbai-based Raj Travels is planning to add 50 franchise agents in the next two years. The company recently appointed eight franchise agents across Mumbai and is looking at targeting other cities in the coming months. The company is currently conducting a feasibility study of different cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Surat, Baroda where it plans to appoint franchise agents. Currently, the company has about 50-55 franchise agents on pan-India basis. The company will expand the network of franchise agents in a phased manner and provide training among the agents about the products and services of Raj Travels. Furthermore, Raj Travels which operates Raj National Express (coach services) on pan-India basis is currently focusing on operating on feasible and profitable routes. The company has already reduced capacity by 40 per cent on routes which are not feasible like Mumbai-Pune, Baroda-Surat etc. On the other hand, the company has added 30 per cent extra capacity to the existing 60 per cent of routes which are profitable.
