India’s leading retail name Raymond became the first Indian outlet to open its doors to Pakistani customers in the posh locality of Clifton, Karachi.
Najmus Saqib, Director, NexSource, which has got the right to run the Raymond outlet in Pakistan, said: “This store is the first step towards more Indian brands coming to the Pakistani market. The interest from our clientele has been very encouraging and it does not surprise us because Raymond is also known internationally and has some 40 international outlets. I also see this opening as a small step towards more free trade between the two countries.”
Raymond already has about 40 international outlets and NexSource is planning to open Raymond shops in Islamabad, Faisalabad and Lahore by 2013-end. Raymond has unit franchise available across the county and internationally too. With over 60 per cent market share in India, Raymond Ltd. is one of the largest integrated manufacturers of worsted fabric in the world.
The Raymond shop, which is the retail face for Raymond, has now become synonymous with premium retailing housing a wide range of premium suiting fabrics, men’s wear and accessories, from top of the line brands like Park Avenue, Raymnd, Manzoni, Parx, Colorplus and Notting Hill.
