Realme, which is the China-based smartphone manufacturer, has elevated Madhav Sheth as president of the international business unit. Sheth will continue to look after the firm’s operations in India as the CEO of Realme India.
In addition, he will be fully responsible for the company's overseas business operation. He will be reporting directly to Sky Li, Realme founder and CEO. As per the company’s official statement, Sheth will be further heading the company’s operations in Asia-Pacific (except China), Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Western Europe, and central and eastern Europe.
Madhav Sheth and Sky Li co-established Realme in 2018. Over the last three years, the company has expanded manifold, thus, having a presence in 61 markets across the globe.
"Madhav has made tremendous contributions to the development of Realme's overseas business in the past, and we fully believe that in the future, Madhav will lead Realme to make new breakthroughs and bring Realme's products with leap-forward technologies and trend-setting designs to more young people around the world," Sky Li, Realme CEO, said.
Of late, the company bagged a position amid the top 6 smartphone vendors in the international rankings with 15 million shipments and 134 per cent YoY growth in Q2 of FY2021. It is now aiming to attain a 100 million target by shipping 100 million handsets by the cessation of 2022.
