- Revolution desires to take franchise route for rapid expansion
The brand Revolution, which has presently 12 retail stores spread in metros and tier I cities in India and one in UAE, has eventually decided to abide by the franchise route for quick expansion. Starting a single store in July 2001, Revolution is now one of the most popular apparel brands to cater the plus size women by providing fashionable wardrobe. It had reached UAE in August 2006. While illuminating the expansion plans Nisha Somaia, Director, Revolution clarifies, “Our client justification has placed us ahead among the competitors. Till now, all our 13 stores are company owned and managed. Keeping the product quality and brand equity in the first priority as compared to marketing, we had taken decision not to adopt franchise method. However, attaining well-known position in the apparel industry, now we are seeking for franchisees.” As far as the expansion plans of Revolution are concerned, it is also looking to tie-up with MBOs. Regarding this she declares that Revolution has already placed its merchandises at the Arvind Brands Mega Mart in Bangalore. However, she has not yet simplified the area criteria and investment required for a franchised store.
