- Ritesh Rawal foundation's movement makes inroads in Haryana
Ritesh Rawal foundation's initiative Learning by doing movement, which encourages students to adopt concept-based learning, has been successfully implemented in the Jhajjar district of Haryana, thus marking the beginning of a nationwide campaign to touch-base the rural masses with new learning & teaching methods.
The Learning by doing movement also expanded its outreach to villages like Badra, Bhadhani, Bajidpur, Dadritoy, within a month of implementing it in the first school at a Government school of Sikandarpur in District Jhajjar.
Ritesh Rawal, Founder, Ritesh Rawal foundation, said, "We are happy with the response we got in the first phase and the support given to us by local authorities to make this event a success. We hope that when we move to other states and start impacting the lives of the students, we will get a similar kind of support."
Approx. 200 students and teachers attended the program. The first phase is aimed at establishing basic learning environment in the schools so that “doing’’ can take place, each student also received a learning by doing starter kit and school was handed over innovative tools in the form sports, music, art and craft kits, to strengthen the learning by doing movement, later a capacity building program will also be conducted for teachers.
Surendar Singh Chauhan, District Elementary Education Officer, District Jhajjar (Haryana), stated, "This program is really a big contributor in the education system and it has definitely added a lot of value and motivated us to enhance the quality of education, the program address the real issues that need attention for the development of a student. We are delighted and privilege that schools at the grassroots level in our district have been selected by Ritesh Rawal foundation to implement learning by doing the movement."
