Rosebys, Dalmia Group’s home décor retail chain is all set to roll out 500-700 stores across the country over the next five years. Presently this UK based store, which was acquired by Sanjay Dalmia-led Gujarat Heavy Chemicals in 2006, operates 70 outlets in the country.

As told to Abha Garyali the company is predominantly a franchise chain. According to Aloke Banerjee CEO, Rosebys Interiors India Ltd, “We will be opening most of the stores through the franchise route and 80 stores have already been opened. Only five per cent stores are company owned.” He further informed, “These stores will be opened across the country in major cities as well as in tier I and tier II towns.”

Rosebys already has a footprint through franchisees in cities like Mumbai, Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region), Kolkata, Hyderabad, Hubli, Vizag, Jamshedpur and in a few towns of Punjab, Haryana and Tamil Nadu.

Rosebys had toyed with the idea of expanding into international markets like Romania, Poland and Vietnam and is still having talks with potential partners.

The company had a turnover of Rs 81crore in fiscal 2009 and is targeting Rs 85-90 crore annual turnover this year. Rosebys has positioned itself as a one-stop shop for home furnishings like bed and bath items to accessories and lamps.
