- Sachin Tendulkar to donate over Rs 1 crore with UAE healthcare to support needy in India
Known for not only his iconic performances in cricket, Sachin Tendulkar in one of the renowned celebrities who actively participates in donation activities. Proving the fact, yet again, Indian’s legendry cricketer and UAE based Aster DM Healthcare have committed to offer 1 million dirhams (about Rs 1.69 crore) to back the needy and the downtrodden in India.
Commenting on the financial support being offered by the UAE Healthcare, Anoop Moopen, Director, Aster healthcare told PTI, "Tendulkar's presence and support will help us to reach out to the society better and more efficiently on our various community initiatives.”
Reportedly, the commitment has been made by Tendulkar and the UAE healthcare as the two met at the 150th outlet launch of Aster Pharmacy in Abu Dhabi recently.
Tendulkar, who is the brand ambassador of Aster, told media person, "I debuted for India in 1989, which happens to be the same year that Aster Pharmacy opened its first outlet and both of us did well from there on.” He also admitted, "I am particularly impressed about responsible and responsive manner in which Aster DM Healthcare touches the lives of thousands of people around the region.”
Meanwhile, Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of the healthcare, a native of Kerala and Delhi University alumnus said, “Sachin will also be a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives helping to spread the message and reach out to the public with socially relevant causes."
