- Safexpress to double its turnover by 2010 through expansion route
The well-known logistics service provider, Safexpress, plans to attain a turnover of Rs.1000 cr by 2009-10. It will be just the double of the present turnover of Rs.500 cr. The company works for the big brands like Adidas, Levi’s, Raymond and Reebok and as a part of its expansion plan it is looking forward to expand its client base. To this end, the company is going to pump in 300 cr in 2 years. “We provide the logistics services to a vast range of customers ranging from automotive, engineering, electronics, telecom, IT to retail, FMCG, healthcare, pharma and publishing industry. We are already present in around 562 cities. We have three varieties of franchisees – booking, delivery and networking franchisees and their investments depend on the locations where they are working. Our aim is to increase the warehouse capacity by adding 6 million warehousing space to our present 4 million sq. ft. of space,” said Vineet Kanaujia, GM (Marketing), Safexpress. He also informed, “Our services are intended to meet all the Express Distribution requirements of an organization through our fully-integrated surface and multi-modal infrastructure and facilities. Our fleet of over 3300 weather-proof, containerized, ISO - 9002 certified vehicles operate over 1000 routes and deliver 36 million packages a year to over 550 locations in India. We provide time-definite and absolutely safe deliveries.” As a part of its expansion plan, the company is going to increase its fleet size from 3500 to 4200.
