IncNut Digital, the makers of SkinKraft, India’s first dermatologically approved, customized skin care products, has announced the launch of their customized hair care range.
With this launch, the company aims to meet the increasing demand for precise and effective hair care solutions in the Indian market.
Chaitanya Nallan, Co-Founder & CEO, SkinKraft, said, “The nature of hair, like facial skin, is very unique and every individual has specific needs. The scalp can range from oily to dry, hair fiber thickness can vary from thin to thick and some desire volume, some conditioning while others need dandruff control. The damage levels of the cuticle and cortex vary across individuals requiring different levels of damage repair. This variance mandates customization of ingredients in shampoos and conditioners.”
Launched in 2018, SkinKraft was India’s first skin care product to use customer data for a holistic skin assessment. Based on this assessment and dermatological research, SkinKraft provides its users with highly customized solutions that address their specific requirements, based on their Skin ID or type.
The new hair care range is designed in a similar fashion, to provide customization through a process that begins with understanding the hair characteristics and needs through the dermatologically verified hair questionnaire. The range will provide solutions according to user hair requirements and goals, like anti-frizz, shine, volume, color protection and more. Customers can also customize the color and fragrance of their shampoo and conditioner.
Formulation of products
Each customized hair care product is formulated with 18-MEA, a primary lipid that is responsible for giving hair its natural hydrophobicity. A healthy and undamaged hair is hydrophobic (water-repelling), however, with the impact of chemical, environmental or mechanical damage this property can be altered.
The presence of 18-MEA makes the hair easier to comb, decreases friction and frizz, and tangling. The balanced pH also restores the lipid layer, and the mix of amino acids works to make the hair more nourished, healthier and shinier. The sulfate-free cleansing also cleanses hair with minimal damage to hair fibers.
All SkinKraft products are formulated with international quality ingredients with the most stringent standards for testing and safety. The ingredients and formulations are clinically tested for safety and efficacy and are designed to address daily damage and damage by chemical processes. SkinKraft products are free of toxic ingredients like parabens, SLS and, SLES, and are cruelty-free.
All SkinKraft products are backed by over 10,000 hours of intensive research and collaboration with Indian, Taiwanese, and Japanese dermato-cosmetologists, pharmacists and pharmaceutical engineers.
Indian cosmetics industry
According to a report released by Redseer Consulting in 2017, the Indian cosmetics industry will grow to approximately $20 billion by 2025 and will constitute five percent of the total global cosmetics market, making it one of the top five global markets by revenue. Experts believe that the customized beauty industry is ripe to grow further in the coming years.
“After seeing a highly positive customer response to our approach of customization in skincare and huge demand from our customers for haircare, we have decided to launch a customizable haircare regimen. We hope that our customers will love this offering,” Nallan further added.
