The educational institution has introduced the FIITJEE Accelerator Program, which will assist founders in building and scaling long-lasting businesses.

The Forum for Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination, or FIITJEE, has started a startup accelerator programme. The educational institution has introduced the FIITJEE Accelerator Program, which will assist founders in building and scaling long-lasting businesses. The initiative will provide organised mentoring as well as financing opportunities to start-ups. Some start-ups may also be advised to work on new problems and challenges that present enormous prospects for value generation.

The programme is open to start-ups in the EdTech, HealthTech, and Social Impact sectors (with deep tech applications only). The 90-day programme is accessible to all startups in these three industries. Interested individuals can submit their applications to the FIITJEE Accelerator beginning July 27 and ending August 26 at midnight. The programme has also been approved by Startup India and is hosted on their website.

Following the initial screening, qualified ventures will participate in an intense mentorship programme. Following the completion of the mentorship, these startups will submit their Business Plans to a distinguished jury on the 'Demo Day.' The enterprises will be reviewed and rated by the jury based on a variety of criteria. FIITJEE will invest in top-rated start-ups. Mentors for the programme include D K Goel, Chairman of the FIITJEE Group, Partha Halder, MD of the FIITJEE eSchool, Udit Sawhney, CEO of myPAT.in, Byomkesh, AVP Investment and Strategy, FIITJEE, and Alok Agrawal, Managing Partner of The Growth Labs.

D K Goel, Chairman FIITJEE Group, said, “In recent times, India has emerged as one of the leading players in the global start-up space, acting as a magnet for top VCs and global investors. Yet, there is a gap when it comes to supporting early stage start-ups in high impact sectors. We believe sectors like education, health and social impact can transform maximum lives in our country and the world. We would like to play our part in bringing about this transformation.”

He also stated that the Program's goal is to guide and mentor participating start-ups in order to assist them in solving difficulties at scale. The programme will include support in identifying and developing projects with long-term effect. With this collaboration, the company hopes to build world-class solutions quickly.

“Being a former start-up, FIITJEE is well versed with challenges that the start-up community faces. Our initiative, FIITJEE Accelerator Program, will bring all our learning of 30 years to these start-ups,” he added.
