Delhi-based Helmet manufacturer Steelbird plans to expand its retail presence in India via franchise route.

Delhi-based Helmet manufacturer Steelbird plans to expand its retail presence in India via franchise route. The company is planning to establish nearly 200 exclusive franchise stores in 2012. The first 10 stores are expected to be rolled out in Delhi, with more to be opened in Mumbai, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Lucknow in the next few months. These outlets will sell entire range of Helmets and accessories under the 'Steelbird Riderz Shop' brand including all kinds of riding equipment including helmets, gloves, jackets, raincoats, sling bags and knee protectors.

Till now, Steelbird retails its merchandise through a pan India network of more than 2,000 automobile dealers and agents. Now, it has opted for franchising to widen its consumer base and provide full range of its products to them. Furthermore, the brand is aiming to nearly doubling its revenues at Rs 100 crore in the current year besides setting up another plant in Noida in 2014, once they optimise their two manufacturing facilities in Baddi.
