- SUBWAY opens 350th outlet in India
SUBWAY®, the world’s largest restaurant chain brand recently opened its 350th franchise restaurant in Jalandhar, Punjab. The opening of this store is an affirmation of brand’s growing popularity. Globally, the brand has more than 39,000 restaurants spread across 102 countries.
Speaking on brand’s initiatives, Robby Gulri, Area Development Manager, SUBWAY® India, says: “The success of our franchise model in India encourages the brand to open more number of outlets. The SUBWAY® chain’s plans for India are also in line with its growth plans for Asia as per which it has set a target of opening more than 3,000 stores by 2017. The sandwich chain is currently growing at a rate of 2,000 stores per year and despite the downturn witnessed in the world economy, revenues have continued to rise.”
SUBWAY® has already proved itself as world’s largest sandwich franchise brand that works closely with local chefs and regional suppliers to ensure a good balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian offering specifically selected to appeal to the Indian palate. The potential franchisees are supported by dedicated locally based development agents and their staff that provide additional business expertise.
