Swensen’s to strengthen its presence in India

Swensen’s, a USA based chain of ice-cream restaurants plan to open 80 new outlets in India in the next five years.

The company entered India through Devyani International Ltd (DIL) early this year. Devyani International has signed a franchise agreement with Thailand-based Minor Food Group (MFG) for the expansion of the brand in India. Minor Food Group has been granted a license in 2003 for 40 years to develop and franchise the brand in 34 countries across Middle East, Asia and India.

Recently, the company opened its first Indian outlet at Mantri Square mall, Bengaluru.
