We all see ourselves to be enabling the Education process. We are trying to do more with less, with Technology- Arpit Badjatya

In an exclusive Interview at the Indian National Congress 2017, with the founder & CEO, Serosoft Solutions, we came across the difference in the Education scenario in the United States and in India.

Let’s talk about Education system worldwide. What do you think, how is the Education system revolutionising on a world scale?

I will talk from my experience. I have had an academic experience myself, and based on that I can say that one of the fundamental differences between Global Education system and Indian Education system is the ability to provide options and flexibility and skills to choose from during one’s academic journey. The Indian Education system which used to be rigid is now becoming flexible with new introductions and new policies that are brought in by the government is definitely on the path to be optional and more student friendly which is similar to the west.

When I used to study in the US, you had the liberty to take up options in Engineering and also do like an up arts course which made the overall study a 360 degree perspective and much more interesting and more rounded and I think that is what is needed here in our country as well. It is something we are moving forward and happens to be the positive side of things.

Talking about Vocational Training, what are the differences you see in US and in India?

I believe, the practical aspect of study which is more application oriented which is something we need to bring in further. The practical application in our orientation is something we need to imbibe in our Education system. There are internships, practical projects which are part of the curriculum in India, but having talked to a lot of fresher’s, or interviewed many, that is not being done as correctly as it should be. So I believe that is one area we need more hands on, more pragmatic approach to Education which will ensure that when the graduates come out of the system, he/she is more employable, much more market ready and can deliver to the employers.

What is your take on Technology on the Educational scenario?

We all see ourselves to be enabling the Education process. We are trying to do more with less, with Technology. And I think this in a sentence sums up what Technology is here to do. There are new avenues that have opened up which were hidden or absolutely untouched. That is here Technology is making a paradigm or a disruptive shift. So those models are evolving and we talk about MOOC’s, AR, VR, which are disruptive patterns we see in the market. But at the end of the day we believe that the human touch of Education and Learning will always be there. And Technology will continue that process in the classrooms and outside.

We will also see new ways in which education is delivered and I think one aspect would be analytics where people can really focus on, understand their improvement and strength areas based on technology and further enhance the learning process.
