- Texas Chicken takes franchise route to make foray in India
Texas Chicken, owned by Atlanta-based Church’s Chicken, has opened its first outlet in Hyderabad. This is part of its expansion plan of setting 30 outlets in Andhra Pradesh in 5-year period. SH Group has been appointed as the franchisee for the brand to operate in Andhra Pradesh. On this occasion, Harsha V.Agadi, CEO, Church’s Chicken said, “We are entering this market to grow aggressively and provide a unique value proposition to the Indian customers with home-style, freshly prepared fried chicken that is extra juicy and spicy with a unique crunch and signature side items. We feel confident that customers will try and love the taste and flavor of our chicken and all the veg and non-veg options.” C. Suresh Rayudu, CEO Srinivasa Hatcheries Ltd, the flagship company of the SH Group commented, “We are delighted to be associated with Texas Chicken – an American brand with 57 years of heritage that is committed to offering fresh, tasty meals, using locally sourced ingredients. We have an established reputation in the hatchery business in the state, and will provide all the requisite support to make this venture a resounding success.” With this foray in India, Texas Chicken has now made its presence in three Asian countries including Indonesia and Phillipines. The company started foraying in international market since 1979. This quick-service restaurant chain has succeeded in achieving the same sale record at store level for six years.
