- The Arvind Store plans to open 200-250 stores
The Arvind Store has massive expansion plans for this year. The brand is all set to open at least 200-250 stores in this year. Arvind launched its first brand in the 1980s with Flying machine and brought a denim brand to India. The brand started its franchise operations in 2010.
Kulin Lalbhai, ED, Arvind Ltd says: “We have over 950 stores across our brands. Around 200 of these are Megamart, 130 are Arvind store and the rest are spread across our other brands. We intend to open between 200-250 stores annually from here onwards. We look at size, visibility, catchment area, adjacencies and many other metrics. We are targeting cities across the country in both urban centers as well as tier II, III and IV towns.
The Arvind entered fabric and fashion retailing vertical with the launch of ‘The Arvind Store’, with an aim to attain leadership position. The Arvind Store is a first of its kind for the fabric retail channel. Taking a step away from the conventional look-and-feel, The Arvind Store is a complete lifestyle fashion destination that offers shirting, suiting and denim fabrics, readymade apparels of popular international brands, custom tailoring and customised jeans. With 12 international brands in its portfolio like Arrow, US Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Gant, Nautica, Izod, Hanes, Next, Debenhams etc, the company also has its own brands like Flying Machine, Excalibur, and Ruggers.
