With technology and globalization influencing every business sectors, the education industry is itself offering new features for improving the learning scenario among Indian students. Offering scholarship is one such step towards improving the education sphere.
Alan Gemmell, Indian Director, British Council announced that 500 Indian students will be offered scholarships for the student's exchange programme in the United Kingdom university. A total of 44 UK universities will be offering Students Exchange Programme.
Generating opportunities globally
This is not the first time that the British Council initiated such a step. In the past, the council chose 105 Indian women, including 6 from North-East for availing the exchange programme via such scholarships. Indian students are getting opportunities for showcasing their talent on a global platform due to limited curriculum and continuous transformation of the education system. These students can enlighten their dream and our country’s name, promoting programmes like student exchange and scholarship at the national level.
Mission to build a connection between Britain and India
Alan Gemmell shares, “We are wishing that more students from Arunachal Pradesh and other North East states avail the scholarships which are being provided by the council. With more Indian students willing to study abroad in UK universities, last few years have recorded a significant increase in visa application by Indian students.”
"Our mission is to inspire people in Britain and India to build connections for the next 70 years," he further added.
Nurturing teachers training
Whether you are an entrepreneur or a teacher, proper and efficient training is a must for everyone. Considering the fact, the council soon is getting into an agreement through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with North Eastern Council (NEC), allowing them to train teachers regionally in the English language.
In addition, the council is planning to organize a conclave of North East education ministers in New Delhi, in collaboration with NEC.
