When asked about why franchise model is preferred by brands for expansion, he says, “It is the potential that exists in the remote and rural parts of the country where people deserve a much better lifestyle but are not exposed to the opportunities and the kind of lifestyle options available in the metropolitan cities.”
Journey From a Marketing Manager to Businessman
I started my career at a Construction Chemicals Company, Ms. Choksey Chemicals- CCPL (Part of Asian Paints Group) as a Marketing Manager, pan India. This role allowed me to closely interact with the renowned Architects, Builders, Contractors & Interior Designers of the time. Managing Director, Anckur Choksey introduced me to the world of contracting, whereby we started to undertake Waterproofing Projects under Choksey Chemicals P. Ltd. Working closely with the execution team enabled me to get a knack for contracting. Taking this further led to the birth of Water Inc. a specialized waterproofing & repair solutions provider. Under the technical guidance of CCPL grew to become a sort-after name in the Construction Industry with working on some of the most prestigious residential, hospitality & infrastructure projects in the country.
Found Space to Germinate the Idea
Whilst our interaction with the clients (end-users) for waterproofing & structural repairs, we realized that clients faced a lot of hindrances in dealing with various contractors names Civil, Waterproofing, Carpentry, Electrical Plumbing, Finishing, and the like. Regard to any issue in most cases, we encountered a blame game between each of the contractors making the end-users helpless. This gave us the idea to act as a single point solution provider for the end-user as well as the Design team whereby there would be only 1 company who is involved right from the planning stage through execution, thereby making interaction & accountability easier for the client. Hence, Elysium Abodes LLP, a Luxury Home Builder came into being to provide end-to-end services to the end-users and the Designers for a smooth and enjoyable experience for any kind of residential/commercial project ranging from an apartment to a Second Home/Villa.
Experience with Other Sectors
We have had a very interesting experience working with Architects and Interior Designers specializing in various sectors like Residential, Commercial & Hospitality. We have worked with very renowned and age-old Design Houses to Celebrity Designers to Freelancers to name a few. This has provided us a wide insight into their individualistic thought process, working style, and designing facets of each of the designers. We have learnt with every project we have worked on starting from waterproofing of 1 wall to building a full-fledged multi-room villa. Through this journey we have experienced that a lot of attention to detail & aesthetics of the project is given more importance than the structural and nonvisible elements like waterproofing, concrete protection systems, and the like.
Evolution of Building Industry
We have seen the Building Industry evolving in a big way over the last 10 years. It is gradually shifting from the unorganized sector to an organized sector with the development of all the stakeholders in the industry ranging from developers, contractors, and suppliers thereby providing a much more refined product to the end user. There has been a sizeable demand for amenities and infrastructure like Clubhouse, pool, Shopping facilities, etc. in residential complexes. End-users demand semi-finished homes unlike bare shell spaces like the past. This has made it mandatory for the developers to provide quality / branded products across the flooring, electrical & plumbing work. It has become a buyers’ market where every developer is competing with one another to provide world-class amenities and facilities to draw the customers towards their project.
Process of Brand Building
Marketing has become a very vital aspect for a developer in order to facilitate sales. Mainstream advertising and various unique forms of advertising are being adopted by the builders to make noise and gain the customer’s attention. Brand building has become extremely essential in a market where the customer is spoilt for choice and has many projects to choose from to suit his budget and requirement. This has led to marketing budgets of the Building industry growing massively with time and to keep up with the competition.
