- TiE Hyderabad pitches wellness start-ups for TISC finals
Innovations in health care and wellness were selected to represent The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hyderabad chapter for the national finals of TiE International start up competition (TISC) at Delhi in February.
Speedy diagnostic kit for prescribing the right antibiotics developed at BITS Hyderabad called RightBiotic won the competition in student track while Feel Good Innovation's ergonomic seat for two-wheeler drivers emerged the winner in the investor track.
The latter is a start up incubated at National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad and has evinced interest from an e-commerce major for providing the seats to its delivery personnel.
"We chose seven teams across the two tracks from a total of 100 applications, of which the winners will represent Hyderabad at the national finals in Delhi in February," said Safir Adeni, president of TiE Hyderabad.
Handing over the prizes to the winners, minister for Information technology for Telangana, K T Rama Rao, added that the state government will encourage private organisations to set up incubation facilities as a part of its start-up policy.
"We are also looking at setting up sector-specific incubation facilities," he added.
