Timex Group (India) is planning to double the count of its Timex Time Factory, the franchised outlets in the coming three years in India, confirms a company official. Currently, the company has 80 franchise outlets in its network.
The group aspires to enhance its brand portfolio and also expand distribution by having addtitional multi—brand outlets, organised retail and exclusive shops. The brand is a part of US watchmaker Timex which is launching brands specially designed and developed to cater to the Indian market. The company has launched its new brand Helix targeting younger population. Previously, the brand has launched a special range conceptualised by popular designer Tarun Tahiliani last year. The company offered a single brand until 2009 in India and currently has brands such as Timex, Marc Ecko, Tarun Tahiliani, Versace, Helix and Salvatore Ferragamo in its portfolio. Also, Timex has plans to expand its manufacturing capacity at its unit located at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh by 30 per cent.
