In the next couple of months, the mobile application will go online in cities such as Agra and Jaipur.

India Assist is planning to expand its services to more cities and destinations in India. The traveller assistance app was started in Delhi NCR last September.

In the next couple of months, the mobile application will go online in cities such as Agra and Jaipur. India Assist offers all sorts of traveller information and physical assistance on the ground ranging from medical to theft/loss of property and altercations to transit issues.

Harish Khatri, Founder, India Assist Insights Pvt Ltd, the promoters of India Assist, said, “The endeavour is to cover the Golden Triangle of Indian tourism before going pan-India.”

A subscription-based service

India Assist’s mobile app is a subscription-based service. It is a one-of-its-kind technology application which tries to bridge the gap that exists in the travel eco-system as far as on the ground information and assistance is concerned.

“There is no centralised verified information or assistance available to travellers at the destination level. In the absence of that, travellers depend on unverified assistance available on the streets which sometimes turn out to be a trap to fleece them,” Khatri stated.

Features of mobile app

In case of medical emergencies, theft/loss of properties, altercations, etc, travellers can download the application to get information on the phone as well as physical assistance by their own resources.

Khatri said, “Any travel package today takes care of four elements associated with travel, which are air ticket, accommodation, itinerary and insurance. Assistance is missing from the travel eco-system. Therefore, we are trying to add an additional element.”

The mobile application charges $10 per day for Assistance. By just paying $10 per day, users can use the service any number of times in 24 hrs.

“We want to work with the travel industry so that they can offer India Assist as a service to their guests. We are not a competition to anybody, rather we are complementing the industry by adding one more service, which ultimately helps the stakeholders to save in terms of time and resources,” he further added.

In addition to this, India Assist is the only mobile app which deals in multiple currencies and also guarantees the privacy of the data of the user.

Khatri stated, “Although we don’t take any sensitive data like passport number, etc. of the traveller, we still pledge that we value the privacy of the user not to use any data for any commercial purpose in future.”
