Trimble to establish technology lab at IIT Madras

Trimble will be setting up a technology lab at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras for serving architecture, engineering and construction students.

With this lab, the IIT Madras leadership will expand in training and research in 3D building design, digital fabrication and sustainable built environment.

A press release said, "The Trimble Technology Lab will benefit students enrolled in the Institute's department of civil engineering, who will be able to experience Trimble solutions."

Roz Buick, Vice-President of Trimble, said, "Partnering with one of the leading engineering institutes in India is exciting. It will be rewarding to see the next generation of architecture, engineering, construction."

"We also look forward to support and learn from these new professionals as they use our solutions for real-world applications", he further stated.

Ashwin Mahalingam, Professor in the Civil Engineering Department, IIT Madras, added, "We are very pleased to announce this state-of-the-art technology lab through a gift from Trimble."
