- UCMAS- A scientifically proven brain development program
Tell us about your entrepreneurial journey from inception till now?
All the Directors of CBS were holding independent franchisee for UCMAS since the inception of UCMAS in Maharashtra in2003. It was in 2010 when all three directors of CBS Education Pvt Ltd took over Mumbai Region i.e. seven district of Maharashtra. The objective was to organize and take the interests of UCMAS in Maharashtra forward with equal zest.
Initially, we started with 58 franchising centres, enrolling 5000 students across seven districts of Maharashtra. However, after receiving enthusiastic participation from parents and children, both, we decided to expand our presence. We now have 232 centres, which hold 13000+ students across 10 districts of Maharashtra.
CBS education has grown with UCMAS and has independently generated enthusiasm in the public. Now parents and even schools are directly asking for UCMAS ABCUS method to be brought to their premises.
Tells us about your brand's USP?
In the ABACUS field, UCMAS is having centres in 64 countries across the world. Initially, ABACUS used to operate with first two fingers from both the hands. Only later, Dr. Prof. Dino Wong, Founder and President of UCMAS reformed this technology and started using four fingers with both the hands. It was an initiative to operate ABACUS in a way to get more affects and benefits, as far as brain development is concerned. In 2015, Dr. Prof. Dino Wong developed six fingers techniques and that is the real gift to the world of ABACUS.
Why did you choose franchise model for your brand?
This is a practical training program, which cannot be conducted on mass level at a time. As one trainer can take care of training for around 15 students at a time; so, to give training to more number of students, we need more trainers. Therefore, we chose franchising model to spread this training in our society so that we can expand our network and more children can participate.
What are the criteria to choose the right franchise partner?
The person who is willing to start franchise centre should have experience and passion in education related activity.
How is training and support important for a franchise brand to grow?
We create awareness on social networking sites and arrange multiple competitions to enhance a child’s skills and ABACUS. We conduct live demonstration in schools, exhibition centre, seminars, events, etc. in different locations. This helps us in creating more awareness amongst the parents.
In which cities are you present? What are the markets that you are planning to expand?
Currently, we have centres in 10 districts of Maharashtra i.e. Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Palghar.
We are planning for a school model through a joint venture with a school authority to start ABACUS activity during school time within the classroom. This will ensure more student participation and help them get benefits of this program. We have already started school model with Oxford School at Chopda, Jalgoan.
