Dr Kabra, a care centre for Vitilogo (Leukoderma) has witnessed tremendous success during the past few years. In an interview, Dr Mahendra Kabra, Founder, Dr Kabra elaborates on the company’s franchise venture.
Ramanjit Kaur (RK): Tell us about the origin of Dr Kabra.
Mahendra Kabra (MK): Dr Kabra started its journey way back in 1984. Dr Kabra is my brain child, though my family, friends and patients have equally contributed to its inception and growth. My father, Dr N M Kabra combined together his medical knowledge, societal views, and experience in the medical practice, which inspired me and my wife to develop the brand.
RK: What inspired Dr Kabra to take the franchise route to expand?
MK: Franchising offers the best possible way to expand and grow your brand and network in a fastest way. Considering the demand of the treatment and increasing number of patients, encouraged us to take up franchising.
RK: What is the USP of Dr Kabra? How it is different from other players in the sector?
MK: The USP of Dr Kabra is proper understanding of the disease and right medication. Moreover, easy-to-follow advice on diet and lifestyle puts the company in special place. The cost-effective treatment is an additional edge.
RK: What practices and initiatives have you introduced at Dr Kabra?
MK: We have introduced the use of ‘LM potencies’ and we also have the experience of attending more than 25000 patients. In our company we have also inculcated easy ways to select the most ‘SMILIMUM’ medication.
RK: What are the eligibility criteria for the franchisees of the company?
MK: Essentially our franchisees need to be enterprising and institutionally qualified Homeopathic physician having 500-650 sq. ft of clinic space.
RK: What are your future target locations to expand through the franchise route?
MK: We are planning to open 75-80 franchised outlets across the country in our first phase. These will be opened mostly at all district head quarters.
RK: Have you faced any challenges while establishing your business?
MK: We have not faced any challenges so far.
RK: Any advice for the young entrepreneurs?
MK: I can only say that nothing is impossible and entrepreneurs need to work hard in order to achieve success.
