UP Int’l Trade Show Begins, To Showcase State’s Craft image
More than 2,000 exhibitors from the state have brought their products for wider reach. Apart from this, crafts from UP’s 12 cities have also been displayed in the ‘Hall of Town of Export Excellence’ in the International Trade Show complex.

Uttar Pradesh is a fast-growing economy in the country, President Droupadi Murmu said while inaugurating the first UP International Trade Show (UPITS) at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on Thursday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present at the event.

“Uttar Pradesh is playing a significant role in strengthening the country’s economy. The achievements that the state has made in the field of economic development and investment in the last 6 years are highly commendable,” said President Droupadi Murmu. The President also said that the UP International Trade Show will prove to be a milestone in the country's development journey.

The trade fair provides a global market for state-produced goods, especially from the micro, small, and medium enterprises and under the state government’s ‘One District-One Product’ programme. The five-day trade fair will conclude on September 25, 2023.

Thanking the President, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “All the initiatives and programmes of the Uttar Pradesh Government in the past six years for the encouragement of the state's handicraft traders will be reflected in front of the buyers from across the world.”

He also highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has left its BIMARU state tag in the last 6 years and has moved towards becoming a prosperous state.

The Chief Minister also underlined the implementation of various government programmes including One District-One Product (ODOP) scheme to promote unique products from all the 75 districts of the state.

“At present, there are 54 GI products that are being showcased by 108 exhibitors in the international trade show. This happened due to the promotion of the state's traditional industries,” the Chief Minister added.

More than 2,000 exhibitors from the state have brought their products for wider reach. Apart from this, crafts from UP’s 12 cities have also been displayed in the ‘Hall of Town of Export Excellence’ in the International Trade Show complex.

Exhibitors, who are participating in the show, belong to multiple sectors including agriculture and horticulture, defense corridor, e-commerce, banking and financial services, education sector (University, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), infra, engineering and manufacturing, film sector, food processing and dairy products, GI tag products, handloom. Apart from this, people associated with other sectors such as handicrafts, textiles, tourism and hospitality sector, toy industry, warehouse and logistics, women enterprises are participating in the event.

Along with established entrepreneurs, new entrepreneurs, who have launched their startups in the last two to three years, have been given the chance. Apart from these, women entrepreneurs will also get a separate platform to showcase their products.
