UP Int’l Trade Show: Over 75,000 B2B Export Orders Placed image
Exhibitors from all categories have reported retail sales from the general public. However, most of the B2B orders were reported from GI products, electronics, and agriculture sector.

The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) concluded after five days of bustling activity, with exhibitors securing more than 75,000 Business-to-Business (B2B) export orders. Over 3,00,000 people, including B2B buyers, visited the fair at Greater Noida’s India Expo Mart and Centre.

More than 300 women entrepreneurs participated in the trade show, which had over 200 stalls. The fair also witnessed nearly 500 foreign buyers from 60 countries. Through this platform, the government allowed artisans to display their work under the ‘One Distict-One Product (ODOP) initiative.

India Expo Mart Limited (IEML) Chairman Rakesh Kumar said over 75,000 B2B orders were placed during the show.

“Throughout the event, exhibitors received an estimated 75,000 B2B orders. Exhibitors from all categories have reported retail sales from the general public. However, most of the B2B orders were reported from GI products, electronics, and agriculture sector,” said Kumar.

Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane was invited as the guest of honour on the last day of the event. While praising Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Rane underlined the state’s pivotal role in achieving India’s goal to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030.

Citing Maharashtra’s example, the Minister emphasized the need for area-wise study and research for setting up industries in the state. Rane also stressed upon improving the per capita income of the citizens in order to tackle migration.

As per the officials, there were comparatively fewer footfall on the first day of the trade show. However, the visitor count started increasing from the second day. Nearly 48,000 people came on the second day, around 70,000 people on the third day, approximately 88,000 people on the fourth day and the numbers crossed the 90,000 mark on the final day of the trade show.

On September 21, 2023, President Droupadi Murmu had lauded the state government for its achievements in the last six years while inaugurating the first edition of 'Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show'.

“Uttar Pradesh is playing a significant role in strengthening the country’s economy. The achievements that the state has made in the field of economic development and investment in the last 6 years are highly commendable,” she had said.

Exhibitors from multiple sectors such as agriculture and horticulture, defense corridor, e-commerce, banking and financial services, education sector (University, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), infra, engineering and manufacturing, film sector, food processing and dairy products, GI tag products, and handloom took part in the trade show.
