UP's ODOP Exports Soar To INR 2 Lakh Crore, Portal For E-Marketing Launched

Exports under Uttar Pradesh’s One District, One Product (ODOP) have reached INR 2 lakh crore, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, attributing the scheme's success to its transformative impact on the state's economy. He also highlighted the state's economic progress over the past seven years, emphasizing improvements in infrastructure and connectivity.

During the seventh foundation day of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister inaugurated the 'ODOP Mart Portal' to facilitate the marketing of ODOP products. Adityanath noted the shift from substandard Chinese products to locally crafted ODOP products during festivals, highlighting the scheme's positive impact. He mentioned that under previous governments, UP's exports were INR 86,000 crore, but the ODOP scheme has significantly boosted exports to INR 2 lakh crore.

Launched in 2018, the ODOP scheme aims to promote local artifacts and products. Adityanath mentioned the global recognition received through the International Trade Show in Noida, which attracted over 500 foreign buyers.

Creating Employment Post-Covid

As per data released by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Uttar Pradesh's exports have witnessed an increase from USD 16.24 billion in the fiscal year 2018-19 to USD 21.68 billion in 2022-23. Notably, in 2022-2023, the United States emerged as the primary export destination for the state, accounting for USD 4.1 billion. Following closely were the United Arab Emirates (USD 1.8 billion), Germany (USD 1.24 billion), and the United Kingdom (USD 1.22 billion).

The Chief Minister also shared that 96 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are operational in the state, providing employment to 40 lakh people who returned to Uttar Pradesh during the Covid-19 pandemic. “The government is offering a security insurance cover of INR 5 lakh to MSME units in case of accidents or disasters,” he added.

Postage Stamps For Global Recognition

Previously, upon receiving the first prize for its performance in the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, it was announced that all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh should have their ODOP products graded, and postage stamps should be issued for their global recognition.
