Udemy, US-headquartered online learning and global market place, has forayed into India with an employee hub in Gurgaon. It has more than 30 million students and 42,000 instructors worldwide.
Udemy was founded in 2010. The platform is an online learning destination helping individuals, companies, and governments gain the skills they need to compete in today’s global economy. It also allows experts everywhere to create courses on thousands of topics and share their knowledge with the world.
Gregg Coccari, CEO of Udemy, said, “Udemy’s rapid growth in India shows us the level of demand from students, instructors, and companies for affordable skills training. We are dedicated to our mission of improving lives through learning and expanding in India enables us to deliver on that promise.”
Udemy courses are available in more than 50 languages, which can be viewed on the web, on a mobile device, Apple TV, and through Chromecast. In addition to this, Udemy students are able to download and view the courses offline, as well as change video quality for low-bandwidth environments.
