W, a contemporary women’s wear brand from TCNS Clothing Company, is all set to open 100 standalone stores by the end of 2012. The new stores will be a mix of franchised and company owned outlets. The company is looking at opening these stores in tier I cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. W has already ventured in tier II and tier III markets like Jalandhar, Meerut, Bhopal, Coimbatore and Kanpur.
Commenting on this, Anant Daga, CEO, W said, “We plan to have more than double of our retail footprint and are targeting to open 100 stores before the end of next fiscal. Apart from strengthening presence in tier I markets which still has huge untapped potential, we are looking aggressively at establishing presence across key tier II markets.” He further added that W has a unique take on contemporary Indian wear and has been consistently reinventing fashion for the new age Indian woman. The company believes that tier II and tier III markets with their share of fashion forward audience promises to be a great destination for the brand to extend its experience.
Currently, the brand has 60 exclusive stores across 25 cities in India. W is also available through over 500 other outlets, which is a mix of departmental stores and multi-brand stores. The expansion drive has already begun with W opening 20 new stores in last quarter alone and doubling its retail footprint this year.
