Diamond Fabcare Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Brown Gouge of Australia announces launch of their retail operations under the brand Wardrobe in Delhi and NCR with 100 exclusive stores, 200-300 pick and drop centers and central supply chain and processing facility. The brand plans to spread pan-India in next 3 to 5 years with an investment of Rs 1500 crore. Mr Jyoti Maheshwari, Chairman, Diamond Fabcare Pvt Ltd and Mr Tim Mottin, co-promoter, Brown Gouge, Australia have agreed for technology collaboration initially for launching the Wardrobe (dry cleaning and laundry stores) in India but later on run the company as joint venture. The company has plans to launch 100 stores, 50 would be exclusive company-owned while remaining 50 stores would be opened through franchising on revenue sharing.. In next 3 to 5 years, presence in 30 cities i.e. Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Indore, Goa, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Thane, Ludhiana, Vadodara, Shimla, Nasik, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Jalandhar, Bhubneswar, Dehradun, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai, Koch is being considered. The company will open 100 stores in 2008-09, 295 in 2009-10, 350 in 2010-11 and 280 in 2011-12. He said at present, we have no plan to charge any franchise fee from franchisees and the franchise business would be entirely on revenue sharing between them. The company will provide workshops and training programme for their franchisees from time to time to train them. On target consumers, Mr Maheshwari said, “middle and upper middle class will be their consumers, which are 70 per cent of the retail segment while remaining 30 per cent business will come from institutions like hotel etc. Brown Gouge is a leading provider of dry-cleaning and associated services to both retail and institutional customers and maintaining high standards of dry cleaning quality in Austrialia for the last 95 years.
