To create awareness on how bursting of fire crackers increases environmental pollution and health hazards, Wave City, along with Ryan International School, Ghaziabad, held an Environmental Awareness & Anti-Crackers Rally, in Sector 2 & 5 of the city. The students became the ambassadors of change and encouraged the residents to celebrate an eco-friendly and pollution free Diwali.
150 students along with 5 teachers from the school participated in the rally. The students carried placards with slogans "Say-NO to crackers", "Stop Noise-Pollution", "Save Environment", etc. The children and teachers also spread awareness about the damage caused by crackers to humans and animals, and why everyone should have a green and safe Diwali.
Rajiv Gupta, CEO, Wave Group, said: "The entire initiative was about emphasising the importance of celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights, without hampering the environment. We, at Wave, have always given the importance of being environmentally friendly, and through this initiative, along with these young students, we are promoting it further. With this initiative, we are urging our residents to say no to crackers, keeping in mind the rapidly increasing air pollution, which is causing a severe threat to the human health in Delhi/NCR. We are doing our bit by creating awareness, and sensitising everyone around us about the importance of preserving the nature & air quality."
