We Are More Focused On Service Rather Than Sales: Dynamo Electric Vehicle image
We aim to give access to everyone to the two-wheeler and we want that every household has it. We think that if we can’t provide an affordable product then it will be difficult for the public to shift to EVs.

Dynamo Electric Vehicle has launched its six new models of e-scooters for the Indian market including, Infinity, Alpha, Smiley, Rx1, Rx4, and Vx1. The Rx1 and Rx4 are the high-speed variants and Infinity, Alpha, Smiley, and Vx1 are the low-speed variants.

Dynamo Electric's e-scooters are produced within the company's manufacturing facilities located in Ghaziabad and Mumbai. Akash Gupta, Director, Dynamo Electric Vehicle spoke to Opportunity India about its product, USP and technology while sharing the journey of the company.

When did you start Dynamo Electric Vehicle and what inspired you to foray into this market?

Akash Gupta: We started this company in 2020. India is changing at a very fast rate as every sector is moving towards cleaner and greener energy, so vehicles are the most important parameters for environmental pollution and we want to contribute to preserving the environment. Since the demand was huge in the market for electric vehicles, we started with one model X1 but with growing demand and market changing, we have launched new models in the market reaching the count of models 12. We are using a BLDC motor which is a basic technology. However, we are trying to shift to a hub motor which is being used by Ola and Ather.

What were the challenges you faced during this journey?

Akash Gupta: When we started this company, people were unaware of EV technology and there were no mechanics for after sale service of the electric vehicles. The first year was very tough as we were focusing on sales but from 2021 we were more focused on service rather than sales.

Can you tell us the USP of the product that you have newly launched?

Akash Gupta: We have launched a high-speed product RX1 to meet the economic demand of the people. Everyone can’t purchase an Ola and Ather because of their price range. So, we came up with a product which is just INR 80,000 ex-showroom with waterproof and fireproof battery of 2KW and motor of 2.6KW, 10 inches both disc brake tyres. Also, we have low-speed models which start from INR 55,000.

Which section of the society are you targeting?

Akash Gupta: We are targeting the masses of the country and not just the elite population who can afford a vehicle of INR 2 lakh. We aim to give access to everyone to the two-wheeler and we want that every household has it. We think that if we can’t provide an affordable product then it will be difficult for the public to shift to EVs. We can reach the masses by providing them affordable EVs.

Can you give some insights about the manufacturing of the product?

Akash Gupta: We have two manufacturing units one is in Ghaziabad and the other one is in Mumbai. We take motors and controllers from certified ARI approved vendors. We assemble 200 vehicles per day and are trying to expand the capacity to 500 by next two years. We are importing lithium cells and manufacturing our own batteries in Noida. The chassis of the product is made according to the swappable batteries and if someone wants fixed batteries, we can fix that too.

What are the major factors that are influencing the public for adopting EVs?

Akash Gupta: The key factors that are influencing the public are the trends. Electric Vehicles are in trend as everyone wants an EV in their houses. Another factor is that the running cost of the vehicle is less than ICE vehicles. A very few factors are considered in the service, you don’t need to get a service done like ICE vehicles.

Dynamo Rx1 And Rx4

The RX1 and RX4 stand out as they are both RTO-registered high-speed models. These EVs can achieve a top speed of 65 km/h and are fitted with fast-charging lithium batteries, delivering a power output of 2-3 kWh. They are available at a price of INR 82,000 and INR 99,000 respectively (ex-showroom).

Dynamo Infinity, Alpha, Smiley and Vx1

The low-speed models such as Alpha, Smiley, Infinity, and VX1 provide a range of up to 200 kilometres on a single charge. They have a charging time of three to four hours and are powered by a 2-3 kWh lithium-ion battery. 10 to 12-inch tyres are used for these e-scooters for easy handling. They are being offered at an ex-showroom price of INR 55,000.

Dynamo e-Scooters Features

Dynamo Electric has designed these all-rounder e-scooters to be affordable while also being visually appealing, in response to the increasing demand for eco-friendly transportation options. This new line-up of e-scooters launched by Dynamo has a wide range of features like Bluetooth speakers, anti-theft alarms, USB charging ports, central locking systems, fire-resistant batteries, interchangeable battery options, intelligent Battery Management System (BMS), GPS functionality, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
