Designed by Globally acclaimed architect Nick Juniper of Coda Studio, which has skilled the discipline of both architecture and urban design. Equipped with the Ayurveda sanctuary, Jiva Grande is the high point of this wellness retreat.
Design dynamics
The spa unfolds a refreshing idiom of design that creates beautiful spaces infused with energy, soothing harmony and restorative balance. The design theme incorporates natural elements, a minimalist yet exotic décor, sinuous curved designs and elements of Vastu, the traditional Indian canon of space planning.
The spa design also embraces water bodies -for their calming visual effect, the therapeutic sound of water and the restorative attributes of soaking in water- as well as pockets of greenery that are a perfect antidote for the weary. The spa is designed in traditional style, built by the backwaters with its Satvik dining lounge, courtyards, landscaped relaxation spaces and meditation nooks, a full-fledged wellness library and water bodies. This tranquil pocket of wellness offers authentic, holistic and comprehensive Ayurveda programmes, by qualified and experienced Ayurveda physicians.
Therapy rooms & furniture
The spa has four single massage suites, three double massage suites, beauty treatment suites, Yoga pavilion, wet area-steam, sauna and Vitality pool, vaidya’s (Ayurveda Physician’s) House, satvik dining lounge and homam (Ritualistic Fire Ceremonies) area.
The spa has wooden beds apt for the therapies in the Ayurveda rooms and hydraulic operated massage beds in the others.
Spa illumination
There are LED lighting and sufficient amount of natural lighting in the rooms. Tea and aromatic candles are used to enhance the ambiance in the spa. Brass lamps are used in the Ayurveda rooms. The adequate lighting and the room décor sets a perfect relaxing ambiance in the spa
Spa services
The Jiva Spa menu at Vivanta by Taj – Bekal, Kerala features signature experiences, Ayurveda programmes, Indian therapies, Indian aromatherapy, scrubs and wraps, and beauty rituals. The Alepa and Abhisheka pavilions dedicated to our signature experiences of body anointment and purifying bathing ceremonies are amongst the unique Jiva experiences offered here. Also on offer are Ritualistic Fire Ceremonies (Homams) for guests’ AYUS and AROGYA (life longevity and health) with chanting by the Resident Priest.
Jiva Ayurveda menu offers authentic in-depth programs, drawn from the original principles of Indian wellness therapies, under the guidance of trained ‘Vaidyas’, i.e. Ayurvedic physicians, for creating and maintaining health. To achieve a balanced state of body, mind and consciousness, Ayurveda prescribes the Panchakarma therapy, a popular therapy, for cleansing toxins from the body that de-stresses both mind and body.
