Whirlpool to strengthen Its footprint In top 16 cities

The company has set up its exclusive franchise stores for premium appliances in Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Jaipur. 

Besides expanding their nationwide footprint via franchise route, the brand is also mulling over introducing its premium kitchen appliances brand KitchenAid in India this year. KitchenAid is a US-based company that Whirlpool acquired in 1986, reported Business Standard.

Whirlpool Corporation is the major appliance manufacturer in the world, with approximately $20 billion in annual sales, 100,000 employees and 70 manufacturing and technology research centers throughout the world in 2014. The company markets Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Consul, Maytag, Brastemp, Amana, Bauknecht, Jenn-Air, Indesit and other major brand names in more than 170 countries.
