Today, most of the skill education brands in India are looking to integrate online education or latest technology to bring talent development for up skilling employees. Therefore, organisations work closely with industry bodies to add value to the learning development initiatives.

NIIT, a global leader in skills and talent development has entered into a strategic partnership with edX, the non-profit global leader in online learning co-founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to redefine the online education space in India. Through this partnership NIIT and edX aim to create high-impact learning experiences for learners by offering the next generation Blended Learning MOOC model that provides an engaging and live interactive experience that goes much beyond than the core MOOC content.

Speaking on the same note, Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, NIIT, said, “As a pioneer in the use of technology in education, NIIT has been at the forefront of technological & pedagogical innovations in learning. With the Indian education system moving fast towards online learning, MOOCs is a great way to bridge the quality, affordability and accessibility gap in education. It gives us great pleasure to join hands with edX, one of the leading providers of MOOCs, to transform the talent development space in India by introducing the next-level of MOOC-based learning that delivers superior outcomes & higher completion rates”.

Recently, Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Vocational Education (TISS SVE) has tied up with TE Connectivity, expert in materials science research with the objective of helping to create skilled workforce. The association focuses towards introducing skill based courses in order to get connectors, sensors and electronic components meet connectivity challenges in a wide array of environments and conditions. The vocational courses by Tata Institute of Social Sciences have been designed to provide immediate and definite interventions to impart employable skills to youth across the country, reported TNN.

"Today, there is a scenario where youngsters who cannot afford to learn beyond SSC or HSC are quite vulnerable because of limited job opportunities. In each sector we tie up with appropriate organisations/companies for work integration. We hope to reach out to a large number of disadvantaged and marginalised youths across India through different vocational courses", pointed Neela Dabir, dean, TISS School of Vocational Education to TNN.

Similarly, Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design technology has announced that it will provide advanced design technology to local MSMEs from the manufacturing sector as per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra. Fusion 360, Autodesk's cloud-based software tool for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) will be made available for free* (subject to satisfying relevant criteria) to MSMEs registered with the Department of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, and with annual turnover less than INR one crore.

Our government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that we provide the most congenial growth environment to the businesses in the manufacturing sector. With the cutting-edge design technology from Autodesk, we are confident to witness many innovative products being churned out by the MSMEs of Maharashtra”, shared Apurva Chandra, Principal Secretary (Industries) of the Government of Maharashtra.
