Health and wellness franchisors have started reconsidering the various benefits of fortified food as India’s population highly requires essential ingredients for a healthier lifestyle.
What is Food Fortification?
Food fortification is a process where micronutrients like vitamins and minerals are being added to drinks and foods that increase the nutritional value of a person’s daily diet. The health and wellness franchisors/entrepreneurs are trying to improve the quality of food that could transform into several health benefits.
Food Fortification Emerging as a Latest Trend
Any trend in the current business industry is important. Especially, food fortification trend has taken the industry by storm where franchisors and entrepreneurs are considering food fortification really important.
The modern-day franchisors are way too smart to realize and accept the contribution of food fortification that could accelerate their business to another level. Also, the rising population of health freaks in India is allowing such franchisors to confidently march on this new emerging trend.
Masses to Attract
According to a report, approximately 70 percent of our population lacks some or the other micronutrients because of the diet we intake. The modern-day franchisors can utilize this opportunity by targeting such an audience with products meeting their requirements.
Pawan Kumar Agarwal, CEO, FSSAI says, “Deficiency of micronutrients has been a major concern in the current time in our country. The best thing about them is that they can be added to common staples that we take on a daily basis.”
He further adds, “We are trying to mix those ingredients in the daily consumable items like rice, wheat, flour etc so that the proper amount of nutrition reaches to every house at a cost which is genuine and normal.”
Why Food Fortification is Important?
The body requires essential nutrients and vitamins in small quantities on a daily basis that keeps the body healthy and immune against several diseases.
“Awareness of vitamin and mineral deficiencies is very low because of which most of the people are unaware of what is missing in our diets. Chronic fatigue, joint pains or low immunity is likely to happen because of this only,” Kumar adds.
