After bagging title of United States Board Certified Cosmetologist, Roopa Ambekar has initiated to enter into aesthetics market with Uber Medspa & Style Lounge to enhance Indian consumer’s beauty. Wellness India brings you more from the Woman Entrepreneur

She is the famous entrepreneur contributing into aesthetics market by doing beautification of Indian consumers. Roopa Ambekar, International Beauty Expert, Managing Director - Uber Medspa & Style Lounge, Bangalore talked to Wellness India and shared her views about aesthetics market growth, progress with technological advancement, celebrity endorsement and much more.

Factors contributing in market growth
A Medspa is equipped with a combination of latest technology and trained medical professional to perform more effective and advanced non-surgical procedures to restore the youthful skin, as age reversal treatments and skin lightening treatments are on the highest demand. Skin issues like pigmentation and sunspots are on the rise, whitening treatments and anti blemish treatments at Medspas are equally in demand and are effective in comparison with a regular facial and bleach at salons.
In fact, celebrities are endorsing and openly talking about their beauty regime including advance skin treatments such as laser facials etc on Social media.
Technology has evolved to deliver great results, built in safety measures and user friendliness is encouraging more doctors and spas to embark on these machines to treat their clients. Over 40 per cent of the men are today looking at the hair and skin, trying to maintain their youthful image, weather in corporate setting or as entrepreneurs.  They are also the most easily convinced of med aesthetics treatments and are also most dedicated in completing their course or their packaged treatments.

Marketing & promotion strategy
We revive our marketing and promotional strategies monthly. Also, we focus on spreading education about at least one treatment every month to our clients. We also organise informational seminars as well as treatment sampling as a way to promote and create awareness of our treatments. Sampling is one of the best ways to promote medspa treatments as most clients are apprehensive about the treatment methods and after effects of these medical treatments. You must do activities that build your credibility in the market first. People have to trust your expertise and your safety protocols to be able to start treatments with you.

Volume of growth expected
I expect a healthy growth of 30-35 per cent in this category in terms of treatments, centers as well as market share.

Revenue model of laser treatments
The revenue model and ROI models entirely differ from service-to-service, laser machine to different technology platform. The range is too vast. For a high end, high performing machines like ALMA lasers, I look at a three years Return-on-Investment.

Emerging challenges & ways to overcome it
Key challenges that the India’s Med aesthetics is lack of training. Training in consulting a patient and understanding their needs, fulfilling set treatment expectations of the clients, training in safety protocols by using aesthetic laser machines and other anti-ageing products, training in medspa management and business building etc., are the biggest drawbacks. Med aesthetics machines, technologies and skill updating are add on to the existing woes. Manufacturers and distributors do adequate training. However, to take the treatment experience to the next level, continuous training in med aesthetics machines, latest technologies and skill updating is required to attain adequate growth in this niche category.
We are invested in an in-house training program that makes us strong. We are working closely with laser manufactures to set-up our very own Med Aesthetics Training center.

Plans to tie-up with emerging brands
We are in conversation with Alma Lasers for business tie-up. For growth and expansion, Franchise India and FranCorp is our strategy partner.

Ongoing trend witnessed in laser therapy
Thread Lifts is a non-surgical face lift, are the hot trends emerging in aesthetics market. Although, laser hair removal and laser skin rejuvenation is still our bread-winner till date.

Innovations introducing to get lion’s share
Integration of wellness therapies into cosmetic laser procedures, for best results in skin rejuvenation and body contouring, is our specialty. We shall continue working with new technologies to improve our core strengths at Uber Medspa. Though, we yet to carry Air Lace at our Medspa, however, we can surely talk about the technology of air lace, which is today the world's most advanced hair replacement therapy to cure advanced hair loss stage among men and women, brought in India by Advanced Hair Studio in India. As light as a feather, it provides 100 per cent guarantee of a full head of hair back with required thickness, density and volume virtually undetectable.

Future expansion plans
We are planning on opening over 20 Uber Med aesthetics centers in India. We are also working closely working with Alma Laser Manufacturers to start our education center in next 90 days.
