US chipmaker Nvidia has said that its partner, Yotta, is set to inaugurate an artificial intelligence data center in GIFT City before the end of March this year. Speaking at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Shankar Trivedi, Senior Vice President at Nvidia Global Field Operations, announced the collaboration with Tata Group and Reliance Industries for the establishment of data centers.

Yotta, a Hiranandani Group company, is responsible for setting up the data center, which is expected to become operational before March, according to Trivedi. Emphasizing the need for scalable data centers for sovereign generative AI, Trivedi highlighted the widespread impact of generative AI in the future.

India’s Advanced AI Facilities

Trivedi highlighted that successful sovereign generative AI requires scalable AI data centers, infrastructure, hardware, and software. Nvidia is collaborating with business groups, including Tata and Reliance, to establish state-of-the-art AI data center facilities in India.

In support of the 'Make in India' initiative, Nvidia's partners, including netweb, Atos, and others, are actively engaged in manufacturing advanced AI hardware for both domestic and global markets. “The company is working closely with Micron and other upstream partners in the semiconductor ecosystem, as well as collaborating with downstream partners, including system OEMs, ODMs, contract manufacturers, and other data center providers, to establish a robust AI electronics ecosystem in India,” Trivedi added.

Nvidia’s Digital AI Curriculum

Nvidia has also developed digital content for students, developers, and researchers, and is rolling out the curriculum on generative AI to business partners in India, with a focus on global system integrators. The company expressed its willingness to collaborate with universities and other technical institutions to extend access to this content for developers across the country.

“Generative AI is going to change the way we work, the way we do business, the way we govern, and the way we live. Just like the internet starting 30 years ago and the mobile revolution starting 25 years ago, the Generative AI revolution will also do the same. Generative AI is going to affect all of you," he said.
