- YScreens looks to set up 75 miniplexes in Andhra & Telangana
YScreens Entertainment Limited (India) is looking to set up 75 miniplexes in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the next three years.
Recently, the Vijayawada-based company launched its second miniplex, Y Screens Trade Development Center (YSTD) in Kovvur, West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
Spread across 28,000 square feet, the Kovvur Miniplex has been opened with an investment of about Rs 10 crore. The company is already operating its first miniplex at Vijayawada bus station successfully.
YScreens is building 11 more YSTD centers which are in various phases of construction.
YV Ratnakumar, Chairman and Managing Director, YScreens, said, “We plan to take YSTD centers across India with the franchise model. We foresee about 200 centres in 14 states over the next five years.”
“We are developing social infrastructure and creating an ecosystem by bringing entertainment, education, e-government services, entrepreneurship at one place in every manual headquarter across the country,” he added.
Direct employment will be offered to 80-100 people at each YSTD Center and 90% of the employees will be from the nearby vicinity.
