- Zapak plans to expand its network
Zapak, a gaming and entertainment division of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group plans to set up 300 franchised gameplexes across 50 cities in India. Zapak is the largest online gaming portal of the nation and aims to expand its user base to 1.5 crore. The company is going to create the biggest distribution network in the country in the next two to three years.
As told to Ramanjit Kaur of FIHL, “Zapak has signed around 120 new franchisees last month that will be operationalised in the next few months,” says Rohit Sharma, CEO, Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited. Presently, the company supports 75 cafés. These gaming cafés include games of all genres like racing, shooting, cricket, counter strike, need for speed, crazy kart, flat out and many more. The company is the largest distributor of gaming CDs, which has 4,000 retail outlets. It also sells gaming merchandises like keyboards, consoles, headphones and other gaming accessories.
Recently, Zapak has launched two new toys for kids on Christmas special and these are Zubber and Aquasand. Zubber is a dough that can be moulded into various shapes and sizes, and Aquasand is magic sand that never gets wet.
